Local history of three generations struggling to make a living in Evergreen, Colorado
From the Swedish plains to the Rocky Mountain Front Range. The story of the Anderson family, the valley they called home, and the legacy they left behind.
About the Book
Andersons of Yankee Creek weaves four generations of stories. Gustaf and Mathilda emigrated from Sweden in 1881, ending up in Silver Plume, Colorado. In 1895 they purchased property in the Upper Bear Creek area of Evergreen, where they built what the family simply called “The Place.”
Over the next one hundred years the family developed a deep love for Evergreen, but also faced the harsh realities of living on the Front Range of Colorado. This is a story of faith, fate, and perseverance in this undefinable mountain town.
About the Author
